About me

I am Svenja, the founder of Atelier Management Berlin. I am known for being empathetic and giving you open and honest tips on how to discover your full potential as an artist and create the career you want.

More than a decade of experience in the art world has enabled me to build strong relationships with artists, curators, gallerists, journalists and production companies and to understand the hidden codes and rules in the art market.

I have worked with established artists, whom I support with my flexible studio management, and with emerging artists, whom I coach. I offer a unique combination of management expertise and deep knowledge of art theory, which I acquired during my studies of Contemporary Art Theory (MA) at Goldsmiths College in London and Cultural and Communication Management (BA) at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen.

During my seven years as Associate Director at gallery Capitain Petzel, Berlin I had the opportunity to work with renowned international artists such as Karla Black, Natalie Czech, Wade Guyton, Maria Lassnig, Robert Longo, Amy Sillman and Christopher Williams. This experience has prepared me perfectly for the realization of my vision to help artists’ studios professionalize and grow.

When is flexible studio management right for you?

You have achieved a certain level of success as a visual artist, you work with institutions, galleries and the press, and maybe you even teach. You want to have enough time for your creative practice, yet you feel overwhelmed by administrative tasks. Really you just want to focus on what you chose the profession for – creating artworks and developing new artistic ideas waiting to be realized.

Hiring a studio manager full-time is not an option. You need support, but at the same time you want to dive deep into your creative practice – without being disturbed by anyone in the studio. You are tired of feeling overworked and stressed, yet you must appear absolutely professional.

With my flexible studio management, I help you gain control by building sustainable structures for your studio.

I take the burden off your shoulders by taking over tasks and conversations that you would like to avoid. With great enthusiasm I am the consultant at your side, whom you can ask everything about the mechanisms of the contemporary art market. Your decisive advantage is that I always act exclusively in your interest, in order to provide relief and ultimately increase your income.

My passion is to help artists realize their artistic visions and empower them to know and stand up for their rights.

Collaborations can be booked as projects or per hour.
